Halloween Makeup!

Hey Beauties! Fall is definitely in the air!
This is the first morning that I have gotten up and walked outside and actually really smelled the fall leaves. I love it! Fall is my favorite season. And my favorite holiday is Halloween! I love everything about Halloween. Decorating, costumes, candy, trick or treating, Halloween parties, and of course...Halloween makeup! I have been seeing some really cool faces floating around the internet on YouTube and Facebook etc... It's really giving me the itch to play around on some costume ideas. Looks like a trip to my local Halloween store coming soon. Here's a few I want to try out!
First and foremost is Nicole Guirerro's beautiful take on the queen of hearts. From the second I saw this, I just knew I had to try it! Luckily for me, she made a whole tutorial on it! Check it out here. http://youtu.be/JDl4wWQ98Z8

Another fantastic one from Nicole Guirerro! Did I mention that she is my favorite Youtube Beauty Guru? Well now you know. Killer Clown Couple. I haven't seen the video tutorial yet as it was just recently uploaded but I'll post a link here and we can all watch it together!
http://youtu.be/cZ8abRvP4Dk

I am loving this! It's so intense with minimal color. After I'm done with the Queen of Hearts, this one is up next!

I like this one because it's intense, but simple! Great for when you need to get ready quick!

Sugar Skulls and skeletons have become pretty overrated the past couple of years, but these that I found are so amazing, I just can't pass up trying them.

SERIOUSLY. REALLY. FREAKING. COOL!

Of course, Halloween would not be complete without a creepy clown.
Yikes!

One last one. Everyone can all agree that dolls can very much be creepy. Annabelle anyone? How about a ventriloquist? This take on one is absloutley stunning though!

Again, a trip to the Halloween store is coming soon. I cannot wait to try out some of these and show them to you. Happy Halloween beauties and show me some love in the comments. Even better, I want to see YOUR Halloween Makeup!!

Covergirl Hello Gorgeous Foundation Review

Hello beauties! It's time!!...for the Covergirl Hello Gorgeous Makeup Review! Finally. So, I know in my original haul picture I posted two foundations that I purchased, but being that I have been self tanning lately I've only used the darker of the two so far, number 305.
Let's start out with what it promises on the package:
- One simple step for a flawless, natural look that lasts all day.
- Blends evenly into skin tone and reduces shine all day.
- Oil Free
- Won't clog pores
- Suitable for sensitive skin
Ok, so I was super excited for this product as I do have very oily skin. When I wear foundation I either have to wear a thin layer, or I need a foundation specifically formulated for oily skin. This one is oil free.
First thing I noticed upon opening the package was the smell. The smell to this foundation is not a very chemically one at all which is super! Let me post a before photo before using the foundation.
Why am I in a towel? Alrighty, well obviously I had just gotten out of the shower and I also happened to be trying out a self tanner for another blog and decided to shoot two birds with one stone with this picture.
Why is my face so shiny? Yeah, I also have a face mask on. Back to business.

I applied the foundation over top of my normal routine of toner, moisturizer, and face primer. I also used a large flat top kabuki brush from Elf. It did seem to blend well with the brush, but this foundation is a little on the thick side so I did notice brush strokes. I feel this foundation would definitely be better applied with a beauty blender or sponge, however mine is missing in action so that was not an option for me. No chemically smell on my face which is a plus. As far as coverage I would say light to medium coverage but it was definitely buildable. I applied two layers.

Here is a photo I took right after applying the rest of my makeup. I did a subtle contour so you could really see the color of the foundation. I did set it with Rimmel Stay Matte translucent powder. And so all that's left is the test of time. Will it hold up?

This photo is taken after about 6 hours of wear. Hard to tell from the photo as my lighting is a bit off. My face is a bit shiny in the normal T-zone area, but nothing drastic. I did not apply any more powder on my face as a touch up throughout the day, so this is straight foundation. Not too shabby I must say.

So, would I repurchase? Yes. I feel I would repurchase this product because it definitely held up to its standards to me. It would not be a product I would wear in summer as it is a bit thick. But, overall a winner from Covergirl!

St Tropez Self Tanner Review

<iframe src="http://rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/cm?t=hubp00c5a-20&o=1&p=26&l=ur1&category=amazonhomepage&f=ifr&linkID=3JC3GIYD4INL7Z3C" width="468" height="60" scrolling="no" border="0" marginwidth="0" style="border:none;" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Ok, so I may just have to consider my self a self tanning encyclopedia, or maybe a self tanner freak? Either way, I have been self tanning quite a few years now and I have tried just about every self tanner they have on the market. I have tried awesome ones, decent ones, and some extremely horrible self tanners. St Tropez, although one of the more popular ones out there, is actually the most recent self tanner I have tried. So, let's do a quick review.
I opted for the starter kit which are three sample size products. The original St Tropez Self Tanner itself has a price tag of $38. I did not want to spend that much on a product that I wasn't sure what the outcome would be.

The starter kit comes with a travel size exfoliater, bronzing mousse, and prep and maintain lotion. Yes, I incorporated all 3 exactly like it stated in the instructions.

Exfoliater- of course I shaved first, then used a standard loofah to exfoliate. I love the smell of this exfoliater and I found I did not need a lot of product to get the job done. A+

Prep and Maintain Lotion- now the instructions were too after using the exfoliater, apply the Prep and Maintain lotion and you should do this the day BEFORE you apply your self tanner. Which is what I did but after my first use, I don't see any problem in just applying a few hours before applying self tanner so that it can all be done in one day. The scent of this lotion is ABSOLUTLEY AMAZING. Honestly, I would just straight buy the lotion no doubt. A++

Self Tanner- now I was a little imitimidated by the size of this product. But let me tell you, the little travel size that comes with this starter kit will last you a good 4 to 5 times. It does have a light color guard so you can see where the product is going, which I like. The color pay off I was slightly thrown off. It was a bit lighter then I was expecting but not in a bad way if that makes any sense. It was just enough color to make a difference. No streaks, just a perfect mousse that goes on smooth and moisturizing. If you were looking for a darker tan, you could definitely build it up. It takes about 4 to 8 hours to build your color and the color guard washes off with no problem.

UPDATE*** I somehow lost my before and after pictures of using this self tanner. BUT, it's been almost a week which means that it's that time again. So, I will update in a new post my before and after pictures so you can have a look!

Conclusion: Is this a good self tanner? Absolutley! Is it the best I have tried? No. It is however, very versatile so I would say out of all the self tanners I have tried, this one I believe would be a winner for most skin types and shades. With that said, I do recommend this self tanner for anyone interested in finding one of the best and most sold out there.
I would also like to throw out there that I have also picked up a new, and rather popular as of the late, self tanner! So, please let me know in the comments if you are interested in a review!

Bh Cosmetics 120 Color Palette 2nd Edition Review

Bh Cosmetics 120 Color palette 2nd edition

So, I have had this palette for quite some time now and decided to do a review for a couple reasons. Number one being it's an awesome palette! Number two reason being that I have been on the fence for quite a while now about purchasing the Urban Decay Electric palette.

  Urban Decay Electric Palette

We all know how much I love Urban Decay. And if you don't... I LOVE URBAN DECAY... Ok anyways... I own a few palettes by Urban Decay and pretty much use the Naked and the Naked 2(I do not yet have the Naked 3) everyday. Here comes the BUT. BUT, a part of me cannot justify spending $49 on palette with only 10 very bright colors that I probably would not use everyday, especially in the cooler months. To me when I think electric colors, I think of summer. But maybe that is just me. I'm not knocking anyone who does and I am definitely not knocking Urban Decay's Electric palette by any means. I'm sure it's wonderful just like every other palette of theirs that I do own.
The point of this post is that I realized that I have this exceptional palette from bh Cosmetics that has 120 colors, many which are pretty electric, but also many neutral colors as well. And...it was a fraction of the cost. I believe I paid in the $14.95 area for 120 COLORS! Here are some swatches.

Swatches from bh Cosmetics 120 color 2nd edition palette

As you can see, the colors are pretty pigmented. I have had this palette for about 6 months now and I have found that I can create endless looks with it. But what I absolutely love about the palette is the endless color selections. You have your brights, neons, neutral, and metallics. I have never had any problem with fall out from this product either. The eye shadows are a bit more chalky then say those of Urban Decay shadows which are a bit more packed and creamier. But the staying power of these shadows are great.
So in conclusion, will this palette keep me from eventually purchasing Urban Decay's Electric pallete? Probably not because a big part of me feels I just HAVE to have it. But I also feel that if I do eventually get it and try it out, I would probably find many of the same colors and outcomes of the fabolous palette I already own. Thanks for reading and below I have a posted a more 'neon' look I did with the bh Cosmetics 120 Color Palette 2nd edition.
